Pediatric Psychology

Pediatric scientific discipline provides specialised assessment and intervention services that target the link between children’s psychological feature, social, and emotional functioning and physical health, usually for youngsters with co-occurring medical conditions (e.g., cancer, diabetes, sickle cell disease). Pediatric psychologists are experts in providing specialized assessment and intervention services for children and adolescents with medical conditions and their families within various settings: in the outpatient care setting, inpatient medical units of the hospital, and as part of the interdisciplinary medical teams in specialty clinics. Pediatric psychologists target the link between children’s psychological feature, social and emotional functioning and their physical well-being.
